8 families from Village 22 in Boeung Kak Lake sue the Shukaku Co. and officials for house destruction

On 04 Oct 2011, 8 families who were former residents of Boeung Kak Lake lodge a lawsuit against the Shukaku Inc. and a number of other government officials for the destruction of their homes on 16 September 2011. On 16 September, about armed 200 cops led by Lieutenant-colonel Phon Sophen; Major Roth Kosal; Sok Penh Vuth, the Daun Penh district deputy governor; and Sok Hong, the manager of the Shukaku sand pumping operation, brought in 2 bulldozers which destroyed houses belonging to the 8 families.
