How development affects housing for the poor

In Cambodia, while high rise building developments and large commercial centers are being built in Phnom Penh, tens of thousands of poor families were chased out of their houses which they lived for the past several years. From one year to another, the number of victims who suffer from land-grabbing and house eviction in Cambodia is increasing at an alarming rate. During the celebration of the World Housing Day on Monday morning, civil society and poor communities demand for a resolution in the land disputes and for the respect of appropriate housing rights.
